Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP is a surprisingly cool place. We added the park to our itinerary simply because it was about an hour off of course. We were amazed when we got to the canyon. While it's not the deepest canyon in the country, it's certainly one of the most narrow. It's difficult to capture the sense of depth and narrowness with a camera. The spired and nearly vertical canyon walls really add a sense of mystique to the canyon.
